A curvy, slender body is an attractive body. However, genetics, age, or weight changes may cause the figure to lose the shape and volume desired in the areas that most draw the eye. When you augment the buttocks, you get a more seductive silhouette.
Advances in aesthetic medicine don’t just allow you to augment the buttocks. The same intervention can also help reshape other areas of the body. This is because the surgical procedures used nowadays extract the patient’s own fat from areas where it accumulates in order to fill in others where you want to add volume.
Procedures to augment the buttocks
Two treatments are usually used to augment the buttocks. On the one hand is a fat transfer, or Brazilian butt lift, and on the other hand is the Supercharged BBL, which combines the previous technique with implants. The choice of one or the other will depend on each patient’s characteristics and condition as well as the results they want to get with the surgery. A specialist surgeon will always advise you on the best procedure.
Brazilian butt lift (BBL)
This treatment to augment to buttocks uses autologous fat, that is, the patient’s own fat. It is obtained through liposuction from areas where it most commonly accumulates: the abdomen, arms, back, or flanks. This fat is treated and then injected into strategic points in the buttock area.
This allows you to kill two birds with one stone: add volume and shape the treated area while at the same time eliminating excess fat from problem areas. The final result is a much more proportioned and slender silhouette in which the buttocks attract all the attention. This technique even has an additional advantage: by using the patient’s own fat, there is no risk of rejection.
In which cases is a Brazilian butt lift, or BBL, most advisable? When the person has flat, small or droopy buttocks. It is also recommended in cases of hip dips or violin hips.
Supercharged BBL
This technique is performed when the patient does not have enough fat to transfer or when they want to gain lots of volume in the area. In this case, silicone implants are inserted and, therefore, incisions must be made. These incisions are hardly visible as they are made in areas hidden by folds in the skin.
The type of implant will depend on each patient’s anatomy as well as the shape and volume they want to achieve. What’s more, in the Supercharged BBL procedure a certain amount of autogenous fat is also transferred. This gives a much more appealing result, with softer lines than what you get with techniques in which only implants are placed.
Other buttock shaping techniques
It is important to differentiate a BBL and a Supercharged BBL from other surgical procedures. One of them is a butt lift, in which saggy skin is removed from the area. The result may be similar, but there is no reshaping, as is done in augmentation procedures.
A Brazilian butt lift and Supercharged BBL also have nothing to do with liposuction of the buttocks. The latter achieves a more svelte, balanced figure and, indirectly, a filling effect. But don’t forget that this technique aims to remove fat, not shape or augment the buttocks.
Only trust experienced professionals
Both the Brazilian butt lift (BBL) and Supercharged BBL technique are safe and give your figure that curvy, show-stopping shape. But beyond choosing the right procedure, it is essential to put yourself in the best hand and only trust the best specialists. Your results and how long the augmentation will last depend in large part on it.
